2000 Daewoo Leganza SX, 2.0
Running down the highway and my low fuel light came on, fuel gauge reading low. Stopped to get gas, but gas filled to the rim. Assumed my fuel gauge had finally went out since care is full of gas. Called friend to verify he said same conclusion. Today it started losing power and slowing down so I pulled off the road. Checked under hood and fuel line had gas in it, but car won't start back up. will turn over normal, but shakes from no fuel, so I'm quite sure it's the fuel pump gone out on me. what's the quickest and easiest way to take off and put on or in a new fuel pump? If possible can anyone submit diagrams.

are you sure it is the pump?
do you hear it prime?
do you see fuel flowing out of the fuel line at a point past the fuel filter when the pump primes?
is your fuel filter clogged?
is your injectors clean?
assuming all the above questions leads to the fact that your pump is bad then you need to:
1- depressurize your fuel system (refer to how to section)
2- disconnect your battry
3- take off the bottom half of your rear
4- remove circular black cover on the right side
5- disconnect power socket
6- disconnect return and feed fuel lines
7- turn the fastning ring ant clock wise with a screw driver
8- lift/tilt the fuel pump to take it off the tank
the pump case will be filled with fuel so expect to drip alot of fuel when you tilt the assebly... needless to say you should do this in a well ventlated area with no sources of sparks/fire arround.
