Battery / Altenator light in Nexia 1.5L

Post by goldiegill »

I have a Nexia 1.5 L which has done 40 K Miles. Everything was running fine till today afternoon. When I started my car today afternoon, its battery / alternator light and hand brake light started glowing and the RPM Meter stopped working. Here I would like to tell you that I took my car for washing yesterday but everything was fine after washing till today afternoon. Now when I start my car, the RPM Meter jumps to 3000 to 4000 and then comes back to 0. The hand brake and battery / altenator lights continue to glow and sometimes flicker. This flicker of the light does not depend on the throttle. Here I would also like to mention that the altenator is charging the battery as I had checked by switching on the AC Blower on full speed and throtlling the car which increases the speed of the Blower Fan which means altenator is giving current. What else can be the problem???

moin,

check the voltage at your batterie during the engine running. you should meter around 14,X V.
you can check the contacts at the alternator.

you might have a bad ground. a lady i work withs lights wouldnt go off (they were never turned on) and as soon as i touched the ground cable at the battery they went out. so id look at how good your ground cables are
