Aftermarket performance Engine mounts

Post by PrecisionBoost »

There is a company in the UK selling engine/tranny mounts as seen above for the Astra MKII

Given the lanos is based upon the MKII they should fit great.

The price was £160 which is around $300

I know that's a bit much for many of you.... but I thought I'd see if there were any other people interested before I buy a set for myself.

In the UK £250 is the average price for a set of professionally made mounts like these.

I don't know about shipping..... shouldn't be too bad.... they are fairly light..... I will split the shipping if someone else wants a set.

For the most part..... they aren't "rattle your teeth out" stiff but they will definitly look good (for all those with show cars) and they will help absorb engine movement and give the car better feeling (throttle response )

+1... need some details on that aswell... as my clutch seems sluggish at times.

As far as clutch is concerned..... I think a standard organic clutch combined with a stronger pressure plate would work well in the Lanos.

Well... I bring in my clutch stuff from a supplier out of this country.... but I'm sure there are a few companies making them for the Lemans here in the USA.

Here is a USA supplier of GM parts that has stuff for the Lemans.... http://www.mantapart.com/

Go to 1.6/1.8/2.0 OHC 4 CYLINDER (sunbird Lemans)

This is for the Lemans..... but the flywheels and clutches will work on the Lanos,Nubira,Leganza,Optra,Forenza,Nexia,Racer,Reno

The GS1130 is a stronger pressure plate with a better clutch.... but it's meant for the street

$275 USD isn't a bad price either

I'm not 100% sure of which flywheel is typically found on the Lanos.... if it's the flat type then your off to the races because that's what the Lemans has

If it's a "pot" type with raised up bolt area around the outside.... then you would need to pickup a Lemans flywheel or buy their performance lightened flywheels to make it work as the clutch they have will not work with the "pot" type.

The supplier I get stuff from has both types..... but we only order once a year usually and we just placed an order so it's kind of late to add anything else.

Needless to say.... there are many options but this is really starting to get off topic from the "engine mount" deal I have going in the UK
