Exhaust options with 1.6ltr Lanos sports...

Hey,

Looking at getting a sports exhaust and wanted to know what options I have???

I want the least restricition possible with biggest power gains, but i don't want it too be stupidly loud like most other 4cyls!!!

Standard looks like the headers come off the motor, with the cat around the front seats. Then theres a biggish muffler. and the huge rear muffler with the tip at the end.

What size exhaust would be best suited with how many mufflers / resonators? And would a cannon be ok for the rear muffler and wouldnt be too loud?

the car has 2 cats a resonator and a muffler. what i planned on doing one day is remove th second cat and resonator and replace them with a glasspack, and get a nice muffler, a cannon would work but in mot a fan of those, too many ricers use them. you would want to go no bigger than 2" pipe

far out, talk about restriction!

i think only 1 is needed here in AUS...

where are the cats located? the 1st and 2nd off the headers and the only real muffler is the rear one with the tip?

first cat is next to the OEM manifold

second cat is after the flexible next to it the resonator

go with a test pipe instead of the first cat, then a glass pack and a magnaflow muffler

with all 2 inch exhaust that would help

what do you mean exactly by test pipe? and glass pack?

so use straight through mufflers and just run the one cat after the manifold?
