Post by azazel19 »

it's overdue for a timing belt change and i'm getting all the parts to do the job and this is the only component kit i could find . seems crazy to buy all the parts seperately would cost double. the only thing is i'm still gonna buy a gates belt not sure of the quality of this belt mainly wanted the idler and tensioner the tensioner is 100 dollars at the dealer. any how let me know what ya think.

now i just need a water pump. are the pumps different on the lanos 1.6L some sites have the pumps without a vin code and some say will fit after vin and then have a partial number anyhow let me know about these things.

you should go with GM OEM parts

GM rolers, GM belt and GM belt tensor (o tensor d la correa en español)

one time i used replacement parts and they lasted 3 days

that is true, but even if you get a new Gates timing belt you are suposed to change them after about 50k miles anyways. its a design flaw in the actaul design of the DOHC engine not the timeing belts.
