CAM

Post by woodae »

I sent a spare cam to webcams. Has anybody had a cam from webcams and what has to be done to the car when you install the cam. I was thinking custom intake port and polish, planed, port matched, custom exhaust. does anyone have any tips or does this sound like a bad idea?????????

Well I hope you let them know that it's a interferance engine, change the duration too much, and bent valves, or too much lift. They probably are going by intimidators specs. How much for the cams. I wish I could find a cheap set of used cams around here. I mean like $20- $30. Because I know it was somewhere around 500 what they quoted me last time

well if you used the same regrind profile as Intimidator did it was something like 126 to the wheels. That was a 1.6 DOHC. Which engine do you have, if it is a DOHC you did send correct, because only doing the intake cam will not help

don't really care its all good what happen was it gave me way more top end alot more. it was eating the speedo, the lift was to high so it couldn't idle, so i had no brakes because no vacum, kinda funny, did it ever rev faster tho. anyone want to buy a cam with a high lift, i don't know what u would use if for but whatever. I will sell it for cheap. its suppose to work in a 1.6 too but u would need another one. Now i think the woo is getting sold i want power. u guys told me but i had high hopes

You need other mods to make a cam worth it. 1 part is not gonna give you a bunch of more power. But as far as vaccum, just use a vaccum tank. it will help with the brakes. Also a SOHC will not work in a DOHC engine, completly different.

+1... or maybe the guy was referring to a 1.6 SOHC and in this case it could be very much correct.
