More question on pulling engine and a comment

Post by chefrobert »

I started the legwork to pull the engine out of the Leganza. I intend on leaving the Tranny as I have no desire to mess with pulling the CV etc....... I have had some bad experiences with frozen bolts. I pulled the AC compressor and the Alternator , battery etc... I am hoping to be able to pull the engine throught the top Maybe I have to slide the engine toward the Passenger side 2-3 inches to clear the tranny shaft but that is my plan unles I hear oyerwise. I want some on to tell me Im screwed if I am! Unfortumnately i dont see any Hook spots pre fabricated to hook a chain to.
Two points I want to share!

a) When I took the Air intake sytem off totaly Above the carberator ( 4 inch airport) There was a vacumn tube that went somewhere that was just melted. Obviously a design failure. I bet I would find the same on my woo Any ideas about what
vacumn tubr this would be and any service bulletins on it?

b) I used air ratchets etc. for the first time Oh my What a difference! No access problem, no skinned knuckles I can't beleve I never used these before. Live and learn. I bought a bullshit 3 HP compressor and bullshit tools from Harbor Freight They are GREAT!
I currently own two
different 2001 CDX Leganzas
Great Great Experiences thus far!
As long as my timing belt hold out!

yes sounds like you're on the right track. You only have to nudge the engine over an inch or so to break it loose from the tranny.
