well not ALL engines can fit due to the front engine mount issue but if you are willing to do the necessary mods for the different mount then yes you can swap in any daewoo engine in a lanos.

not sure about this but it wassaid that the electrical power steering is available in some MK3 astras or so.

if you remove the PWS pump you will free up some HP that used to be consumed in the attempt to turn it over not sure how many HP to be exact but it is some 5 horses or so as i recall.

the point is you are going to pay alot trying to get an electric PWS system for those extra 5 HP... i recon paying that amount - or less - in a custom 4-2-1 header or even a turbo setup.

PS pump can be used from Opel Astra G (mk4)... Yes, PS pump can reduce to up to 5 HP... I will use this pump in my lanos after changing the engine...

I have 1.6DOHC... And I will use c20xe from Opel kadet GSI16V (astra mk2). It fits without any changes on engine mounts or anything... I will not loose AC...

And, I will use my gearbox! It is the best swap for lanos... 2.0 16V with 110KW+... It gets to 120KW in no time with simple modifications... It's cheap, and we have it plenty... Engine parts are also cheap...

You can mount power steering pump on engine and loose AC... I don't want to loose AC, so I will use electrical PS as mantioned above... ;)
