Carbon cleaner question

Post by headly »

Guys,

Subaru have a product called "Upper engine cleaner" which, from what I understand is a foaming cleaner that you spray into the throttle body while the engine is running...and hey presto you have a sparkling clean throttle body, intake manifold and valves. I've had a look at a few subaru forums and the product has been given the thumbs up, however on one 4X4 forum they said to use it like a nomal cleaner and not run it through the engine as it can ruin it.

Has anybody used it or know of anyone who has used it or anything like it in a non-subaru? if so were there any negative effects?
