forenza not starting

Post by kinkyllama »

Well I started my car and it took a couple seconds to start, so i turned it off and tried again... it took even longer. Now it wont start at all.. it has PLENTY of juice and all the sparks are firing. I think its something to do with the fuel but dunno what. actually as im writing this now out of nowhere its starting again. What can i do to find out whats wrong? I've had a CEL for a couple weeks now but i think its unrelated. I've also been gettign terrible gas milage.. instead of 27.5mph avrg im getting low low 20's.

Any ideas?

That sucks, Do you hear the whistling sound of the fuel pump if not it's probably your fuel pump is bad, I had the same problem I looked under the hood and the pump fuse was blown replaced it then it started ride up but the car drove very bad well I went to my gf house then when I was trying to move the car the wistling sound of the pump became harder and the car didn't want to start. Hope this helps.

my fuel pump had to be replaced when the car had about 12k strange  but ohh well mine was replaced under warranty hope yours too.

But Kinky I personally think that your fuel pump is bad cuz you put way to much stress on the car when racing, I think that you should buy a racing one (fuel pump) cuz a new one would not hold for a long time either, that's my opinion.

But don't take it personally, where still friends :) 8)

How much?

If i have to get a new fuel pump i'll definitly get a better one than OEM if theres one available cuz we dont even know how much fuel the fuel pump will provide for a turbo

well here in Aruba everything is expensive so the pump will cost about 350 plus labor or maybe more.

What about the Epica/Verona fuel pump will it fit the Optra/Forenza??

I was thinking of swapping mine if it fits
