Engine studdering Daewoo Lanos 1.6L
Hello everyone,
I'm new here and I decided to come to you guys for help on my Lanos 1.6L. For the last past 3-4months my engine has been studdering at take off and also does this if your in 5th at 30-35mph to the floor. already replaced fuel filter, spark plugs, plug wires and coil pack. When I'm at a dead stop, it runs rough like its not getting enough gas to it. If anyone can help here, I would sincerly thank-you.

engine studdering, rough idle
well I tried that injector cleaner and that doesn't work. Here is something else, when I wake up in the morning to go to work (chilly mornings, cold) the car works perfect untill it get warmed up and then it acts up again.

how many miles you got on your car? this sounds like injectors problem... if the cleaners doesn't work then you have to replace them.

daewoo lanos studdering
The car has over 137K miles on it. There is no check engine light on. I'm going to put another cleaner bottle in with some prem. gas. hope this work but if not, it nails it down on injectors needing replaced. I don't even know where to get new ones? And it looks like it could be hard to do on this 1.6L.
their are a set of basic information that we always want to know to troubleshoot this kind of problems:
1- car/engine/tranny type.
2- kms/miles on the car.
3- ignition system serviced kms (spark plugs, spark plug wires, coil pack).
4- fuel system serviced kms (injectors, filter, pump).
5- air filter serviced kms.
6- engine mods list if available.
7- exact discription for the problem.
8- associated charactristics for the problem (when car hot, goes over 60 mph, turning left, A/C on,etc...)
9- CEL status (on, off, blinking) and prefferably the DTC code you got after the OBD scan in case the CEL is on/blinking.
10- any recent engine service done even if it is a very routine one.
having that we can think of a proper diagnosis for this problem... anything shorter than that is going to make us going in circles.
as for thurless 137k miles is way too much service period for injectors if those are the stock ones... i recon the cleaners and premium fuel won't do much if any at all.
injectors are available at http://www.gm-carparts.comand many other sites... your injector's P/N is 17109450 and it is not that hard job... their is a how to for doing this on a 1.5 SOHC... you can use it as a refrence to your car as it is not that much different and it is not a really complicated job to do.
dhd need more info on your ride bro.

try an IAC cleanup process... the detailed instructions are in the "how to" section... also try to throw in an ECU reset as well right after the cleanup job.

update on engine studdering
Hello,
well for my lanos 99 137k miles, I have put in prem. fuel in along with some high-end cleaner and did a clean up process IAC. I didn't do a ecu reset yet. The engine seems to be working alot better than before but from time to time I might still feel the engine studder just a little but not as much to where It was really noticable. I have also notice a performance increase since I did this too. I'm going to run it a little longer on prem. fuel to see what happens, it might be cleaning it out as I drive more.
