strange exhaust setup

Post by MMamdouh »

is that a strange exhaust setup or what?... is their any benefits of making the mesh point from 4 pipes to 2 that far away?

i saw that on some setups that are called 4-2-1 but the 4-2 bit was not that far from the header... any comments?

your torque would be excellent with that setup. the pulse seperation sould be fanstastic and thus higher torque numbers... hp might suffer though

since the daewoo gear ratios are pretty short... it'd prolly be a pretty good setup for us (that's not a woo header though)

it looks like the exhaust headers my mate used to have on his series 1 mazda rx7. Its tuned length extractors. Heaps better flow.

so the trick is to keep the intersection point of the pipes as far as possble or what? if that is the case then our OEM headres sucks big time.

the idea is to gain a delicate balance between torque (backpressure) and horsepower (over-all flow)...

look at fomula one headers... they very very quickly merge into one... and have a very high horsepower

if you look at dragsters, they have long tubes (sometimes they don't even merge). this makes for excellent torque.

most of the time dragsters lack in the horsepower area so they use turbos, superchargers, and nitrous to help up top :)
