Vehicle speed sensor

Post by panther »

Does anyone know where the vehicle speed sensor is located on the sohc Lanos. When my vehicle is moving in neutral gear the engine speed will rise to about 1200rpm and then drop to its normal 850rpm when the vehicle comes a halt. However, sometimes when the vehicle stops moving the revs will still stay at around 1200rpm without dropping. I've checked & cleaned the ISCV but think it could be the speed sensor but without a manual I'm not sure where this is.

i guess you are talking about the IAC... right? anyways it will be helpful to throw in a TB and IAC cleanup, follow the instructions in this link.

i also recommend an ECU reset after you finish the cleanup job, see instructions:

Not too sure what you were meaning but here is a link i fell apon the other day

http://www.delta-autotronics.com/Speedsensors.htm

Has ALOT of cars listed there. 945 to be precise.

eg

"Car: Daewoo Lanos
Year: 1997
Speed Signal Pickup : On the engine control unit on the blue 32 pin connector. Pin 2.
Wire Colour : Green/blue.
"

like that for many cars, some have more info. look @ it for yourself.

i was confused too but from what he discribed it seems that he ment "idling speed controller" rather than "car speed sensor".
