i have noticed on some lanoses that the fuel filter got that little wire that looks like an earthing for the filter... the wire goes from a socket on the filter's body to a bolt on the fire wall.
my car came standard without that wire... even my OEM fuel fiter (AC Delco) didn't have that terminal on it but the newer Daewoo filters got it.
my questions are:
1- what is the benefit of having an earth wire on the fuel filter? is their any danger for not having one??
2- why does the filter need earth?? isn't it already connected to the fire wall through its metal clamp and hince it is already earthed?
thanks for your advice guys.

my lanos FUEL filter had one standard...but the replacement filter didnt.
no problems on my car, not many cars have an earth.

well... some people reported that fuel ignits during a fuel filter change, it could be the reason why their is an earth wire on the filter.
