THE owner's manual lanos 1.5 indicates that capacity of Engine oil is 3.75L ( including oil filter).
The mechanic said a little bit higher than the max level mark is better.
So how many engine oil should I put in , ie. 4 L ???
Thanks!!!!
bye the way, when I start the engine in the moring in winter (Australia now) , you will hear : da da da ....., the mechanic said my oil is too sick ,and need to change in accordance with the manual API SJ (ILSAC GFII).

I read not too long ago that its worst to put too much oil in than not enough.
I thought most cars held 10 though.. i think thats in Litres.. and i read that 6 is plenty.. but dont take my word for it. Im not sure if what i read was in litres or not

as per the users manual the 1.5 SOHC takes 3.75L of oil during and oil change with filter included.
too much oil is as bad as too little... both will hurt your engine so you got to be on the right level.
when i change my oil and filter i pour in exactly 3.75 liters into the engin and then after a day or so i recheck the oil level and i find out it is some 2-3 mm off the MAX mark so i refill till i get to the MAX mark using the 0.25L of oil leftover from the oil change job. (note that as long as your oil level is between the MAX and MIN marks you are OK).
my mechanic used to throw in the whole 4L into the engine and i noticed that the oil level is a bit over the MAX mark and i didn't like it... fill the engine with 3.75L then recheck the level after a day or two and refill till you hit MAX... it is the best way to do it.
