For the past 6 months the car would surge and chuggles to the point that the car would not be able to hold speed. I had to either accelerate or decelerate.
I thought the problems were fuel pump / fuel injectors / coil /wires etc....
And while testing those parts all of them are actually way off the operational specs so all of them would have to be replaced.
But yesterday I have disconnected the EGR connector and the car drives just fine. All problems cured, the car drives so much better. The only drawback is the CEL on my dashboard.
I might actually make the blocking plate and drive it like that, then when its time for an emission test, I just take of the plate.
If anybody experiences similar problems, its a fairly easy way to check if it is the EGR, for my it was just disconnecting the electrical connector and driving the car. If the car drives well then it is the EGR valve, if no change then you have other problems.
