Gas tank size difference?

Post by realmadrid6 »

Kinda stupid question but what is the size of the gas tank i dont think the figure in the owners manual is right cause when i fill it up its only like 38L and it says the tank is 48L, i got a lanos 2000 3dr 1.5.

i got the same car as yours and once i fueled it to full tank and it took 49 liters

sure the manual is not correct but i think the tank is bigger than 48 liters and not the other way round.

P.S: keep in mind that when the Fuel lamp on the dash comes on it means you got 6 liters in the tank.

If you drive it for a bit more, it will eventually get up to 12 gallons. Even though the light is on, doesn't mean that your tank is empty.

Interesting... I've done 11 and something gallons before, I'm sure I could've driven for a bit more...

hm. ill have to try that. either way, when i fill up to 10 gallons, i used to get 40+ mpg on my woo. id drive from austin to san antonio, trip was 98 miles total. id use 1/4th of a tank each way. since there were only 10 gallons in the tank, i divided 10 by 4. giving me 2.5 gallons per 1/4th. then 2.5 /98 = ~40+mpg.
