High compression ratio

Post by NubiraPower »

Did anyone tried to raise the compression ration to a Nubira1 1.6? I want to try this next week but I don't know how much to raise it! Can anyone help me with some hints or something?! 10x

moin,

i?m from germany, and i don?t know all technical terms, too.

1. other pistions (work in the cylinder). they are must a little bit higher than your old one?s. but difficult to find for a daewoo. maybe the pistons of a opel will fit 100% (read 2 other thread here in the forum).

2. a other crankshaft (axle down in the engine). it must raise the pistons higher. this part is very difficult to find.

3. remove material from the enginhead. but there are limits for doing this. if you take to mutch, the valves hit the pistons. -> game over. 0,3 mm maybe you can remove. but wait for other opinions here.

you can caculate how mutch it will bring, if you remove material or the pistons go higher. there is a formel, but i don?t know it in the moment.

This is what I will do. I will talk with a friend who have experience in doing this but I want your opinions too. I'm very curios about the increase in hp! I hope that next week i will succed to increase the compression ratio.

Here, the best fuel we can buy has the octan number 100. Is it good? :?

moin,

okay, 100 ist the best we can buy in germany, too :D i ask, because you can drive 91octan fuel until 9,5:1...95 octan until 10,5:1.....98 octan until 12:1. i?m not 100% sure of this data, but aorund this areas....you know.
i think your highest rate will be 12:1 or 12,5:1. but i don?t believe you will reach this with only remove material from the head.

This is the problem, I want to reach the maxim ratio just removing material from the head because I don't know if I will find opel pistons to match my engine.
