where can i get a header for a 1.6l 16v 99 lanos, would one from another car fit, b/c i cant find any and a header is one of the first things i want to do to my new lanos

Hey, I don't think there are any headers available at this moment for our car. And I'm afraid that the header from other cars will not fit (Opel Astra maybe? have to look into it). Also, do not try the header from Sharkracing, it does not fit.

Anyone else know a direct link to a header that fits? HVE don't make em anymore, sharkracing doesn't fit.

i dont feel like spamming the entire board, so ill just ask it here:
1)are there any high compression pistons for the 1.6
2) will they help and how much
3)how high of compression can i run on 87 octane pump gas

i don't know off hand high compression pistons...

Here's a few questions...

How much HP are you looking for...do you want to stick N/a or go F/I?

TBH... i think 12:1 is a good high compression but i think anything over 10 i would suggest atleast going with 89....

Any piston upgrades will help... it's different on every car so i can't say.. you will gain xxx amount of hp... but i think you would gain a substantial amount...

U can Email Ross Pistons/Wiseco and i believe ARIAS is one other company that you can send your pistons out and have them make forged ones with the compression you specify... but if your going to upgrade pistons... i would upgrade a few other internals as well.. but it's not going to be cheap

you could be looking at $500+ per piston (i think) off the top of my head

Ok, who has a picture of stock 1.6 pistons? they're 9:5.1 i belive right?

There's European version of this engine. with a 10:5.1... so those pistons might be good upgrade.

in germany all engines in a lanos have 9,5:1.

some 1.6 engines from opel have the same cylindersize (79x81,5) like the lanos 1.6. e.g. the e16se (10,0:1) oder x16sz (10,0:1). maybe look here: http://www.die-opel-tuner.de/seiten/motoren/1600ccm.htm. i think ins the USA you find this engins in the pontiac Lemans (http://gallery.pagenstecher.de/albums/a ... hinten.jpg)

I can find here some header for the lanos. tHe last time that I chk the guy have 1 or 2 in stock is like 200.00 per header.. proble shipping cost. I have to verify again if there are in stock. If you are still interested and have the money let me know.
