Spring Break Project!!

Post by AcingTeam »

Hehe... charging my credit card, but who cares?
Just bought these items:
1. Sharkracing Headers (one of the cats has to go!!!)
2. Eibach Pro-kit springs (had enough of my cut springs)

Buying next:
3. EVOfusion cat-back exhaust (buying next, as soon as they reply)
4. Short Throw Shifter (hopefully will get it soon... hopefully)
5. Timing belt/kit

Hopefully all will arrive before the spring break, so I can install them all during spring break. Who knows, maybe I'll be able to break into high 15's? Maybe?
Already installed:
1. Blitz Intake kit
2. Choco Chip
3. Ractive cat-back
4. Ground Wire kit
5. Performance Plug wires

Hopefully will be able to pass my emessions... the car's gotta be very loud... and having one cat taken out... who knows? We'll see...

just do this.... pipe from the header to the back and all you would need is one bend at the header, the only problem is if you happen to bottom out. thats what i plan to do, no cats just pipe and a muffler

I bottom out all the time (that's why I'm getting new springs)... my flex pipe is all beat up. I actually would like to keep one cat out of two... So I'll have a cat and a muffler.

Wouldn't you fail the emissions with the set up that you want to do?

have you seen the "racing" cats that can be turned on and off. i.e can work as a cat or be set to a strait through design. I saw them in a magazine a while back and know nothing about them but if you have seen them, put them in.

Also, wouldn't that trigger your CEL? Even if you drill the sensors into the pipes? I'm pretty sure it would...

Yeah talk to subchad.. he was telling me about that and how he thinks he knows how to make the CEL light go off by putting the sensor somewhere else. He should have tried it by now

My CEL went away on its own.

Basically to know how to beat the light, you first need to know what causes the light. If the first CAT is working properly the 2nd 02 sensor would have a weaker signal. If you take out the first CAT, the 2nd 02 sensor basically gets the same signal as the first. To lessen it, you can either put a resistor in (MIL ELIMINATOR) or you can fool it by getting it to see a little less of the exhaust. To do this, get a spark plug fouler kit which set me back about $4. Drill out one of the holes so your o2 sensor will tighten all the way into the fouler kit. Screw the two fouler kits together and then screw them into the o2 bung. It will move the o2 sensor out of the airflow, just just enough that you don't trip the CEL. OBDII still works in all it's glory so if you ever have a real problem it works just like it did stock.

I will try this with my race cat in a week or so. Right now I need to fill in the other motor mount and prep the car for a track day at willow springs on Sunday. The Woo is goin circut racing...

Go to "VIEW CART" at the top left corner....
Then where it says "Qty", in the box below it instead of 3 put 1.
Then press "UPDATE QUANTITY"

OR.... Press "REMOVE" icon to the right and it removes the item.
