Newbie here... Parts Question...

Post by sportychik84 »

I have a '98 Lanos SX,bought it a couple months ago,its a great car but my timing belt broke, so as all of you imagine i need to buy a few parts including valves... So my question is I've checked on GM's site for parts but they seem to only have models 99-02, can parts for a Lanos 99 be used on a 98 model?....

i believe the engine never changed. just make sure to get the right ones. like if you have a 1.6l don't get the 1.5l valves. i'm not sure if they're different or not but i wouldn't take the risk.

i bought my car at 12/11/1998 yet it is a '99... i highly doubt that their is any difference between the '98 and the other Lanoses whatsoever.

Well if she was in the US then it would tell us she has a 1.6L
Outside of the US, there are other options. She probably has the 1.5L which many of the parts that she's looking at wont fit.
