Throttle body EGR Return Tube

Post by Brian5475E »

Has anyone noticed when you remove the throttle body how far the egr return tube stick down into the throttle body. I mean it takes up like almost a 3rd of the chamber. Well I decied to try something. i'm going to shorten the tube so where it is flush with the top of the chamber. That should increase airflow.

well it worked good. you have to pull the whole egr tube off (pain in ass) you want to leave the top of the mounting flange and cut the rest. Cut some of the tube back the slice the tube all the way around. then bend the little tabs back. Now since I have no way to weld aluminum I used JB weld on it. Works great. You do notice a little more tQ in the low end. I think it's worth the time. Sorry no pics, I don't have a dig camera, and it was a last minute thing to do.

I will try to upload a diagram[/img]

I hope you live somewhere where they don't care about emission testing... I'd imagine that's something they might look at.

yes we have echeck, but the egr tube is still there and functions. I just shorted the tube going into the throttle body/intake, it restricts the flow of air getting into the intake
