bad acceleration & consumes alot of gas

i have a 2001 lanos,
it consumes alot of gas ( maximum 7 km / L )
and it has a very bad acceleration, specially from a stop, it barely moves

have to check you spark plug, leads, cat( is it block) air filter, when was the last service..

it was 2 months ago, and it was a full engine rebuilt
and the spark plugs is new and the wires.
but i dont know how to check the catytic converter ????? if it is block or not
i dont know if it is the o2 sensor or fuel pressure regulator or the EGR ???

to check you cat just unbolt and shine a light it to..

it should look like a bee hive..

i had the same problem a while ago.

could the problem be poor compression or head gasket?
is the car running hot?

its not gettin hot @ all, even when am running on higher RPM

have you taken it to a mechanic?

he said its absolutely normal,
but i know my car more than him.
it does consume more fuel than normal (not as before)
and the acceleration became poor comparing with old dayz by the same car
so i dont know even if the problem is o2 sensor or ............
its been something mysterious to me

Some more suggestions,

-have your car scanned.
-you may download the service manual and look at "engine controls, poor fuel economy" to give you some paths.
-check that the temperature sensor connectors (one on hose between air filter and intake manifold & one on head near ignition coil) are well fitted.
-you may also check with a multimeter (less than 15$) the resistance values of those sensors.
-check that your thermostat is not stuck open causing a low operating temp. Should be around 88°C/190°F after 15min ride.

finally fixed.
it was the idle control valve, which made the engine cut off when i release the gas.
and the speed meter it was a ground wire under the hood it was cut.
so all was fixed, thank you all for help
