A16DMS fuel injectors
I've looked high and low for what flow rate injectors the 1.6 16V uses... but no luck yet.
Does anyone know for definite what "size" they are?
Am I right in thinking they are around 175cc/min @ 3bar?

as far as i remember the 1.6 has 150cc/min injectors... the 1.5 SOHC has 135cc/min injectors

Re: A16DMS fuel injectors
you cant just stuff more fuel into the engine and hope it makes power... you have to make provisions for it to get more air too.wolfsreign wrote:would it hurt to up them to say 200cc/min? or 175cc/min? i mean yea it would prob hurt my gas, but oh well.

Aveo 1.6L uses the same injectors as the U20SED 2.0L which are rated at 200cc

Re: A16DMS fuel injectors
got a problem... the injectors themselves and the plugs on them are completely different between the A16DMS and the A13SM...
The injectors ive got are similar to, i think, those found on vauxhall X12XE, X14XE etc engines. altho if i replace the plugs on the wiring loom i'm sure i can make them fit.

Re: A16DMS fuel injectors
I don't think that is the case. I checked the part numbers on the 1.6 and 2.0/2.2 injectors I have and they are different.Nemasys wrote:Aveo 1.6L uses the same injectors as the U20SED 2.0L which are rated at 200cc
Re: A16DMS fuel injectors
OH SHIT
you have the new design injectors
the new ones will "physically" fit but you will ave to modify the sockets

Re: A16DMS fuel injectors
yep, those are the ones.
luckily, where they were taken off the old engine the guy cut the wires instead of unplugging them, so i got the plugs for the a16 injectors with the injectors as well as the fuel rail and pressure regulator. shouldnt be too hard to make em fit.

Re: A16DMS fuel injectors
...they dont fit...
the older design injectors are about an inch too short, and even re-drilling the brackets on the fuel rail wouldn't reach. a custom bracket to hold the fuel rail or a complete custom fuel rail would be needed to make the injectors fit.

Re: A16DMS fuel injectors
I found a set of 4 injectors from a 2006 Lacetti 1.8 16V for £50... they're the same (newer) design as the ones I have.
Should have them in by the weekend and see how it runs...

The injectors are in... took some elbow grease to get it done, but its done.Rodd1s wrote:I found a set of 4 injectors from a 2006 Lacetti 1.8 16V for £50... they're the same (newer) design as the ones I have.

Believe the injectors are from a T18SED engine, they are the newer design 'longer' injectors, but still have the old plugs, so i had to change the plugs/connectors on the wiring loom, but was able to use the standard fuel rail. Had to change all of the rubber seals on the injectors though, as none of them fit properly. (long story)
Seems to run fine, and pulls a lot stronger in the higher rev range. broke a temp sensor of sorts for the dash in the process but bodged it for now.
