O2 Simulator
I was wanting to know if anyone here has used a O2 simulator to replace their 2nd O2 sensor when removing their cat. I'm wanting to remove my cat and put a test pipe. If anyone has, let me know where you got it from and how to intall it on a lanos. Lucky here in Ohio they only plug the EPA testing computer to the car computer on the OBD II. so no inspection. Anyhelp would be appriciated
I used 02 sims on a previous car to replace the rear O2's when I yanked the cats and ran a straight pipe. Can't help you with the install on a Lanos, but it shouldn't be too different for any car. It just plugs into the O2 sensor wire and I tucked it up out of the way and secured it with some tie wraps. Worked great - no "check engine" light and no other issues with using it.

I manufacutred my own bypass tube when I first purchased my Lanos and I found no significant difference in power so I put it back on.
My car only had a few thousand miles on it when I did it but perhaps it might help out when the car gets higher mileage and the cat starts to get clogged up.
I was going to throw it on a dyno and see if there was any difference but I sold the Lanos to a friend and purchased an Optra 5 ( Daewoo Lacetti ) so it was never tested.
