Lanos Exhaust
Does anyone know if the 2.0L XK engine from the tosca (aka Chev Epica) would fit in the Lanos without an insane amount of modification?

Simple answer, yes. Not an insane amount of modification, think you might need to modify the chassis leg and possibly the bulkhead, or move some stuff about, water bottles, power steering, etcetc. Not 100% sure, but they go into Vauxhall Corsas without much hassle, and i've seen youtube vids of them in lanoses, so im pretty sure it wouldnt be THAT hard.

Yeah, Im just intrigued by the whole straight 6 in a front wheeler haha
also, if that engine fitted, it would also mean the diesel would fit too
Has anyone ever made a Lanos oiler before
the 2.5 V6 would probably be more viable as they are older, more common and therefore cheaper.
Im just trying to weigh up cost wise doing up this car with buying an easier platform to work with.
Fun
At the moment i'm thinking i need a new exhaust, it feels really choked.
If im cruising and i drop a cog with WOT it isnt as fast as if i drop a cog and put my foot 1/2-3/4.
Also at WOT there is a hissing noise from the exhaust that isnt there at 1/2-3/4
Could this be caused by the cat being blocked even if it isnt throwing a code or is it the rear muffler or resonator... or a combination of everything
Input would be great guys if anyones experienced/fixed this...

Is the 2.0 a straight 6? Dunno if that'd fit now, but the v6 is a gogo.
You sure the hissings from the exhaust and not the inlet manifold? Usually if you've an air filter or something, you usually hear a hiss at wot. It's just a bit more pronounced with an air filter, check for leaks aswell. Not sure why it bogs down under wot though

well when my exhaust got blocked, it lost a lot of power, one thing you can try is remove the o2 sensor right at the bottom of the exhaust manifold that is right after the 90 degree turn, thats how i found out the exhaust was screwed. it ran great with it removed so i pulled the whole thing off and found out the cat converter was messed up
