i was driving home when i felt there was something wrong with the car,

so i drove the car up a motor way and could not get pass 80 mph, 4000 rpm in 5th gear,

what other symptoms are there... or will the car simply just not move? what bout downshifting to 4th... what happens then? cos 4th gear should take you up to around 110mph - i know mine does.

Main cat should have squares, that look like honeycomb in it. Think the precat or 'halfcat' has swirls of honeycomb. Either or, one of them has sqwirls, ones square. Just looks like very fine slits of metal.

Did you not say your car was running rich a while ago? Running rich can actually melt the cats if it's severe or prolonged enough, aka, bad 02/lambda sensor can fuck stuff up in the cat. If it's melted and you're trying to push exhaust gases through a lump of solid metal at points, it'd surely restrict gas flow outta the exhaust, which will seriously limit the top end.

if it was running rich you prolly clogged the cat up with carbon (from the un burned gas) running lean would cause the exhaust gas to be too hot and could cause it to melt

This one from Ebay is a empty tube. Not a cat. And it seems too short. Don't you need a 390mm long between flanges?

if your gonna remove the cat why not just get a piece of exhaust pipeing and replace the cat with it, instead of buying some thing your not sure will fit.

the flanges on that prelude decat pipe looks different to that of the lanos' exhaust, doubt it'll fit.
