But I'm pretty sure my timing is still off...The engine shudder is constant and pronounced. Not extreme, but noticeable in idle. The exhaust stream is not uniform, and there are some puffs and sputters, not smooth like the red Lanos. The engine also seems to lack power. After taking it for a test drive and a WOT run, the car got up to speed just fine, but this triggered the CEL. This screams TIMING to me. I put the belt on myself and I easily could have missed a tooth or two. I have the spare parts to get the belt changed, but I did this like 15,000 miles ago, and it costs me $175 to get done professionally.
Is there any way to check the timing with a timing light? Would bad timing show up in the CEL? Or should I just bite the bullet and pay the $175 to have the thing professionally done.
Thanks for all the help.
