I tried to fit a nice shiny TB from a 1.6 to my sohc but I found that the length of the throttle spindle is a different size. If I remember I think the throttle cable bracket that is bolted to the inlet manifold is positioned differently because of the difference in shape between the sohc & dohc manifold - so for the throtle cable to reach the TB without bending needs to be a different length spindle. I think the 2 coolant connectors on the TB were also in a different position. I suppose with a bit of adapting it can be made to fit but at the time I couldn't be arsed so cleaned up my old TB instead.MMamdouh wrote:you are talking about OEM rubber hose now... right??insomni4k wrote:MMamdouh, I found one for a 1.6 DOHC in a scrap yard, but it was different... missing about two inches to fit correctly. maybe the canadian build is different?
the OEM from a 1.6 DOHC won't fit a 1.5 SOHC... OK the TB side will fit with no problems but the pipe itself will be shorter as you mentioned due to the fact that the 1.6 DOHC intake is bigger and much closer to the airbox than in the 1.5 SOHC
i thought you were talking about SRI so i told you that the 1.5 SOHC and 1.6 DOHC are the same.

Original air intake is cracked in two places
