if you changed the engine the other way around you could have them make a 180 degree offset power transfer, that way the torque is applied to teh casing instead of the internal components. it's a similar concept to a sport bike transmission.
i'll design you one and you can have it cnc'd out of the material of your choice
I also haven't rulled out turning the engine 90 degrees.... but if I do that.... well... I might as well make it RWD or AWD
I'm going to be doing significant modification to the unibody structure anyways.... so.... perhaps I will get you to fabricate me a nice tubular support frame for the engine/tranny/unibody

i want to make my lanosinto the highest i can get out of horse power thatwill be street legal in N.S. i Don't know what the limit is if there is one. But i want to to be mainly a street car. I read something about revs in the 11's and 12's wow. I used to be a street bike rider before my accident and that would blow my mind. So u guys live in edmonton and if you guys can do wonders with my lanos that would be a long drive. Thanks boys you guys are a real help Living in N.S make daewoos seem unknown. most the population are clueless. Thats why i want a daewoo not a cobalt ss.

I don't know if the Daewoo head can make it to 12K yet but there are complete kits to make the older European heads go that high.
This Daewoo head is also used in Europe on all the newer iron block ECOTEC engines...... so support for it is starting to become reasonably decent.
The iron block ECOTEC is slowly dieing off in Europe..... they are now moving over to a european spec Aluminum block ECOTEC.....which is different than the american ECOTEC.
I think they have also starting using the American ECOTEC in a couple of their vehicles.... but it's hard to say which aluminum ECOTEC is going to dominate in the future.

in europe they' started to use the 2.2 aluminum ecotec on the 98+ Opel Astra. wich they de-stroke to a 2.0 to use it on the BTCC and won 5 or 4 years in a row

Well.... this subject of ECOTEC engines allways confuses me.... so I might not be right about this stuff.
The IRON ECOTEC is still being used.... the Z20LET is their current 2.0L turbo engine
The Aluminum Euro Ecotec is used in the Saab vehicles and a few of the Opel products.
The Aluminum American Ecotec is used in GM North America and several of the Opel vehicles.
Which one is used in which vehicle tends to be confusing....
Now.... having said that.... I can't be sure that the two aluminum ECOTEC engines are not of the same basic engine family.... it's possible... I just don't know for sure.
At one point we had some posts with pictures identifying the various engines.... perhaps if we found those original posts it would make things clear.

I have a nearly endless bank account as well..... but..... I like Daewoo cars... mostly because they have Opel blood running through them..... sure I could afford an Evo.... but then I would be just like a couple thousand other guys with the same modifications.
When I get a chance.... I want to bring a heavily modified Opel Calibra 4X4 turbo here..... you can only bring them into Canada if they are over 15 years old.... and 1991 is the first year of full production..... which is why I've been waiting to import one.
Sure I know an EVO 9 will probably walk all over it..... but hey.... I might be the only one in north america with one of these bad boys on the street.
So.... unlimited money doesn't mean you simply give up your cheap car..... anyone who is good with money knows how to get the best bang for your buck.... and a turbo engine swap into a Lanos makes it faster than an EVO 9. ( EVO 9 is way way way heavier than the Lanos )

exactly why we swapped a 2.0 into the 1.6 Nubira rather than buying another car with bigger engine... you should see the faces of the guys that get smoked by a Nubira... they never saw that comming
