The premium package (which my cousin got ZX3 model) has the 2.3 mazda engine which has 155 Hp at the fly wheel. he ran his car at the track and ran a 15.4 guess what I'm saying is a contour with 170 hp running 15.9 with a v-6 and 5 speed is pretty sh!tty. hell my 85 supra with a wimpy 5MGE with only 155hp at the flywheel ran a 15.2. Need to have that contour checked out
Well, contours were not made for racing... it's a family sedan. Also, it's quite heavy.

Hmmm... In the US they do not make 1.6L Focus. The point I was trying to make is that Focus SVT is fast, and not trying to compare it with a Lanos.

Also, no one said that Ford is a good/reliable car. I was only stating that it's pretty quick for a Stock car.

The Focus SVT is very nice but this isn't 1999 anymore so the competiton is no longer just the Civic Si and Integra GSR. The competiton in that price range has gone up considerably in the past 5 years. You now have the WRX and SRT-4 to contend with. Not to mention the Celicas and RSXs. Even the Saturn Redline Coupe and the soon to come Cobalt SS. The Focus makes a valient effort but it would not be the car of choice in a demonstration of 4 cylinder power. The car is about 5 years behind in execution and Price to Power Points. For 20+K.... I would choose something else.

For $20K USD my Optra 5 (Daewoo Lacetti) would destroy both the SVT Focus and SRT-4.

I only paid $13,500 for it so that leaves me with about $6000 to $7500 for modifications since the Focus SVT has an MSRP of $19,375 and the Dodge SRT-4 has an MSRP of $20,995.

For $6000 I'd bet my Optra 5 would push into the mid 12's without a problem..... I know of a couple of Sunbird GT Turbo owners running 12's with stock internals. ( thats the C20GET 8V 2.0L Turbo )

I actually think I would have a hard time spending that much money... hmmm.... well I guess it wouldn't be that hard

Man I wish I had time to slap my C20GET manifold and turbo onto my Optra 5.... I'd show you what could be done for a couple hundred dollars.

I have lots of money to do the modifications..... I just don't have the time. :( :( :( :( :(

Did you get the Focus RS in North America and Canada?
There's quite a few around where I live. Ford's motorsport development centre is just up the road from me in Boreham, so I get to see a few interesting Fords being 'tested' around the country lanes there.
