quick question about engine

oh yeah, when it started to run funny I took my filter off and it had a hole in it. I replaced it right away. think something might have got into the engine? i took the whole intake manifold off and looked but nothing looked out of the ordinary, other then being a little dirty.

sounds like the exhaust might not be leaving th engine fast enough, like something is plugging it. if i remove the exhaust tube right after the manifold, will it have enough back pressure to at least tell me if it is the exhaust?

not that anyone is reading this anymore, but I think I have solved the problem. I said it might be the cat.. almost 100% sure it is now. I got onto a site and it said mechanics sometimes remove the o2 sensor to see if the car runs better... well I did remove it, and my acceleration is back to where it was. I am so happy right now. running up to autozone int he morning to see if i can get an universal cat.
