WOW! good post, that answered a ton of questions, truly. basically the same motor as here witha different bore and stroke. I'd say that with the stroke listed before these motors could easily be bored out from 80.5 to 86mm and be just short of 2.2L.

this actually opens up a world of options for you guys, if a couple more of you guys with Vivas could let us know if this is your motor than we can get rolling on info for you.

thanks for the update wallaby!

Better picture of my Lacetti's engine:

Strangely enough, they look a bit different but I'm sure they've got the same capacity and stroke X bore.

:? hhmmm. the pic of the Viva engine changes things up a bit. the Lacetti engine in the pic is deffitly the same platform as the ones here but not the Viva.

I can't say for sure with the engine cover still on the Viva but it looks like small block. the give away is the thermostat design to the front of the head (from the hose that goes to the top of the radiator). you can see that the two pics have different thermostat housings. the one on the Viva look quite a lot like the ones on the C20CE, C20SEH and similar motors, not at all like the small block motors over here.

the pics are great but we might still have to see a Viva's engine with out the big plastic cover on it just to know exactly what small black it's based on.

the only other option would be to buy one of these motors from Oz and have it shipped here.
