Intake for a 1.6L E-Tech

Post by AveoLS »

Hello, I just bought a Chevrolet Aveo LS. It has the same engine as the Daewoo Lanos and I am looking for a nice intake. I am looking for one that does not have the hole for the tube that runs to the engine block. I would like to use a breather filter on the engine block.

I am also looking for a 1.6 high flow 4-2-1 header with smog holes for o2 sensors.

I have looked all over the internet and found only one name, HVE header.

I do see that weapon r makes a Lanos intake but I am not pleased with the high price and low quality that I got with my chevrolet cavalier.

Also what mufflers do you guys have on your cars. I love the sound of a 5 speed with a loud muffler.

It's been a while since I looked at the Aveo engine ( I had a Lanos and now I have an Optra 5 (Daewoo Lacetti, Suzuki Reno )

Do you have two sensors and a device that looks like a catalytic converter?

Where do you live??

The standard 4-2-1 headers get rid of that first catalytic converter ( which I call the pre-cat since I belive it to be a "pre-heater" for the real catalytic converter located underneath in the middle of the car)

I'm sure an intake for an Aveo will be in production soon by multiple people.

You need to look for parts for the Daewoo Kalos (as this is the real name of the Chev Aveo/ Suzuki Sprint )

Keep checking this forum and I'm sure you will see something soon.

I am in PA and we are required to have two 02 Sensors and one catalytic converter on the car in order to pass smog tests. My car only came with on cat. I was hoping to find a good 4-2-1 header.

I tell ya I had a bunch of intakes on my Cavalier and the only ones I like are short ram. I also dont care for that tube that goes from the intake to the engine block. I like using a breather filter but only if there is a nice looking way to cap off the hole on the intake tube.

I am picky about under the hood looks. I already got a Universal Hyper ground kit and a kn replacement filter for the stock air box. I was told on another board that the lanos 1.6 and the aveo 1.6 have the same size filter so I figured i would hold off on the air intake and cone filter till more stuff comes out for the aveo.

Hello fellow Aveo owner. You pretty much have to make all of your mods. I recomend running a cold air intake into your wheel well with a cone k&N. put a oil breather filter on and remove the tube to the intake. Also do the intake air temp mod. Unplug the air intake temp sensor and put in 2 10k 1/4 watt resisters in there. Have your 1st muffler removed and put a staight pipe, and replace the rear muffler with a straight throw design. The lanos 1.6 is the exact same motor as the aveo one.
