similarity of old and new GM engines

Post by Rodd1s »

a friend asked me last nite whether i know if the newer lanos 1.3/1.5/1.6 exhaust or intake manifolds are compatible/interchangable with the old 1.3/1.4 etc vauxhall/opel astra/kadett engines.

i told him i had no idea. cos i dnt know whether they can be swapped.

does anyone have any info on this? cos he's looking into getting a opel/vauxhall nova/corsa 'a' for a small fun-car (as opposed to his Opel/Vauxhall Vectra SRi 2.5 V6) and then upgrading the engine, but obviously old corsa/nova parts are becoming very rare.

if not, does anyone know of anywhere that i could find the diagrams with dimensions for manifolds?

Arent the heads completely different? Dont think they're interchangable, but don't hold me to that.

The Nexia head bolts straight onto the 1.6 big block gm engine.. I think it's the big block anyway. Yeah it would be, im using a daewoo clutch/pressure plate and beerbox from my nexia on my 2.0 so it would have to be the big block
