If your willing to do all that work it wouldn't be that hard to take some measurments and put things togather. I doubt anyone would know off the top of there head

Well its possible....with a lot of time of money. First off you would have to convert the car to rear wheel drive. The funny thing is thats only the beginning. Custom mounts, wiring, cutting the firewall...the list goes on and on. My only question is why all the work? There are more ways to create high power out of your Lanos without spending a fortune.

That is stupid to hustle with sr20, when you have all the engines GM ever made...
C20NE
C20GET
C20XE
C20LET
C25XE
X25XE
X20XEV

C20LET is far better engine then sr20..

why go through the hastle? you can get all the power you would ever want from the opel engines that have been listed earlier, yes its prolly possable, but very unrealistic. if you want lots of power in your woo get a c20get and crank the boost, you could get more power from that than your car can handle, if you still want more there is lots of room for improvement in that engine, you could push 500whp from it if you wanted, and its a drop in.

The SR20DET from a JDM Nissan Sunny / Pulsar would be the primary option.

Image

It would be a pile of work and you would need to buy a front clip ( basicly everything forward from the firewall forward )

http://www.jrautoparts.com/clip_nissan_N14.htm

You could run AWD with the stock 5 speed from the Pulsar/Sunny but it would be quite a bit of work to make the AWD system function with the Lanos due to the rear suspension layout.

However.... it would be relatively easy to simply run it as a FWD.

Measurements of the SR20DET are fairly close to ours.... but there is a pile of fabrication work that would be required.

Basicly you would have to move everything from the front clip over to the Lanos.

In the end.... you'd probably end up spending $10K or more.... and for that kind of money you can order a turbo 2.0L C20LET from DMAX (germany) that has been build to run 310hp 330lbft ( cost is 6400 EURO )

And that would be a fresh engine with a 7500 RPM redline.

Here is the site.... http://www.vmax.de/html/frame-haupt.html..... but you have to navigate into the area for Opel Calibra C20LET to see your options.

Of course you could have a C20LET rebuilt here to run that kind of power for something closer to $7K.... which would also allow you enough money to pick up a 6spd transmission ( Getrag F28 ).... which is a must for that kind of power level.

you could contact opelgtsource.com, they have a couple C20XE motors with stand alone EMU's here in the States and that motor will bolt directly up to your tranny.
