Web Camshafts

Post by Brian5475E »

Found a place called Web camshafts in cali. They can hard weld cams( using stock ones) for 525 for set. Will increase Hp to 155 TQ to 135. They do alot for daewoo's in korea. Has anyone tried these?

I've heard some good things about this company. What exactly does hard welding the OEM cams do?

It's whats called in engineering 'hard facing'. Basically they deposit very hard weld metal onto the existing cam lobe, adding enough material to allow the cam to be reground for more lift/duration etc.

this is only good if you are planning to build HP all motor...in other words...naturally aspirated by raising compression....same goes for valve jobs, etc...these things work against forced induced cars......has anyone found out if they also can make the internals for turbo application???

Umm! :? that's why I put it in the N/A section and not forced induction. I talked to the guy there with a intake and free flowing exhaust w/o header the 1.6 can make 155 hp with these cams. They also make them for the 2.0l
