geo storm engine??

today i was talking with a co-worker and he said he had a 91 geo storm he was selling for 200$, all it needs is a new head, well i was like hmm, lets check it out

went and checked it out and it looked alot like the lanos motor

anyone know if there is a simalarity here??

the reason why i say this is because the Isuzu Impulse RS Turbo is the same motor but turbod!!

no it is a different motor.
The impulse motor is
4XE1W 1991-92
4ZC1 1985-89

hmm, well i know that alot of the parts for the isuzu will work on the GSI becaues i have been looking at the parts and they are mostly enterchangalbe, from what i have found that these Isuzu, Geo Storm, Asuna Sunfire, and Lotus Elan M100 used that engine family

now i have also seen that the bore x stroke: 80 x 79 on the 1.6 gsi

and ours 79 x 81.5 on the 1.6

but when you get down and look at the engine in person you would think its the same engine as the lanos 1.6

hmm that sounds like bore from a 1.6 and stroke from a 2.0 from daewoo engines? wierd

yeah I understand. The reason I know about this engine is because I almost bought an Isuzu Stylus as a project car. Wish I did buy it.
