:? well... if you are having HARD shifts and you can feel the motor jerk then it's the mount in the back of the engine bay (the right tranny mount). if you're just feeling excessive vibrations and you know it isn't the motor the change both the front motor mount and the tranny mount.

it's not likely that the front motor mount is bad just from the design style. you might be able to use the right side tranny mount from an '87-'93 Lemans but i'm not sure. you will definitely have to do to one of the former dealers for the other ones.

Okay, I put my car in reverse, held in my break and accelerator and standing in front of the car looking at the engine, the engine actually dips down. Looking at it it seems like the rubber in the front mount was giving in it seemed like almost an inch...the actual mount did not move that I could tell, but the rubber was...

Do you know the correct amount of movement that the motor should have? It seemed as if it could def be part of my jerking problem.

Thank you kindly for all your help with this!

Not the same car as yours but this "MAY" help you...

My lanos had a crack in the rubber (front of engine) motor mount.
This crack could not be seen until the mount was removed.
Although it took me two days to find a new mount ?
Removing the old and installing the new one only took about an hour.
:)
p.s. To me an inch of play seems way too much.
