problem with a 2000 daewoo lanos se

i towed it to a shop maybe ill hear some good news thank you guys so much ill let yall know what i find out

it was the timeing belt it had missing teeth i just hope my engine is ok its costing me $330 to get it fixed

if the belt slipped, your gonna prolly need the head rebuilt due to bent valves

Yep, and a big, 'plus one' to that !

Beavis, make sure the shop does a compression test (if they can, in the condition it's in)


Remember, a few of your valves were open (hanging down) and when the belt slipped the valves didn't return, the pistons were going up and probably banged into them. (read damage here)

Just by putting a new t-belt on it won't cure valve/head damage.
You may be better off taking your car to a shop that has had experience with a Daewoo engine.
