2000 Daewoo Lanos idle air control valve...

Post by Chas Wiggins »

This may already be known but I was replacing my idle air control valve (IAC) tonight and cross referenced some part numbers and came to the realization that the IAC on almost any 2.2liter Chevrolet engine from the mid 90's work on our car with very little modification.

I used one from a 1995 Chevrolet S-10 pick-up truck. Its the same exact part but the casing is flipped around 180degrees so all you have to do is file/or die grind out the mounting holes and it works like a charm.

Plus if you buy the part new for the Chevy its half what the Daewoo part is!!!

Nifty!

1992 Subaru SVX
1986 VW GTi
1988 Mazda GTX

I just don't like pulling up to a red light next to a car like mine.

Thanks !

I didn't see it anyplace else.
Maybe it will end up in 'FAQ' or 'How to and Modification's'. ?
