Original air intake is cracked in two places
I have a 1999 1.5 SOHC Lanos (Canadian)
The air intake tubing is cracked in two places. I was thinking of replacing it
with something like this (as I can't seem to find an original one!)

I read a few posts here regarding this sri but couldn't find a post clearly stating it would fit on a 1.5 SOHC lanos..
Some of you have also suggesting using one for a CIVIC. can anyone recommend a kit that would be easy to fit?
(any year of civic close to the 1.5 lanos???)
Thanks for you help

Thanks guys, I really appreciate what you guys do on this site. I've been occasionnaly logging in for the last two years, and the info is invaluable
MMamdouh, I found one for a 1.6 DOHC in a scrap yard, but it was different... missing about two inches to fit correctly. maybe the canadian build is different?
woodae, do you have any pics of your installation? I've been browsing Ebay trying to find something for a 91 integra, but they all seem different
in style. I obviously wants things to be as easy as possible. If I don't have to do any cutting, i'd be happy. I don't mind a few tie wraps
Here are a few links I found, can you give me your opinion on these?

ilike your thinking, seperating the air coming into the motor from the engine bay is the best way to go but i think they are talking more about the piping.
also the best way to build this seperater is by using a a sheet of ABS plastic and a propane torch or heat gun to form the bends needed. then you can get waether stripping to mount to the top to seal it from the engine bay.

you are talking about OEM rubber hose now... right??insomni4k wrote:MMamdouh, I found one for a 1.6 DOHC in a scrap yard, but it was different... missing about two inches to fit correctly. maybe the canadian build is different?
the OEM from a 1.6 DOHC won't fit a 1.5 SOHC... OK the TB side will fit with no problems but the pipe itself will be shorter as you mentioned due to the fact that the 1.6 DOHC intake is bigger and much closer to the airbox than in the 1.5 SOHC
i thought you were talking about SRI so i told you that the 1.5 SOHC and 1.6 DOHC are the same.
