Help...Radiator hole in the left Fiber part ..Lanos 1500 c.c

Post by shokoup »

Hi all,

I have a big problem that one of the upper boxes located to the left upper side of the radiator has a hole and i failed to find any material to repair this hole, people in the Daewoo Motors Egypt service centre told me that they can't weld or repair, but they can replace the radiator !!.
The radiator is completely in excellent condition, except for this hole
I'm from Cairo :( :(

the people want to sell you a new radiator cause they can make more money.

you need to find a plastics specialist and have the plastic-weld the hole. yes this is a real techneque and if done right it will be able to hold well over 25lbs of presure.

Shokoup,

I know nothing about Cairo Egypt.
But,......
I would think Cairo has automobile 'salvage yards' ?
If you could find a Daewoo that has been damaged (not front-end damage though  ) than you could do that.
The radiator is very easy to remove and re-install.

Also, does your city have radiator repair shop's ?

I had the plastic (top tank) section of a damaged radiator repaired (at a local shop) three years ago, it cost. $30.00 (USD)
That radiator is still fine and does not leak a drop.

we do have something similar... i got some stuff from their before.

also a damaged radiator won't be a bad idea as long as the tank is intact... damaged radiator will be cheaper than dirt to buy.
