Muffler

Post by jurupa »

I am planning on getting a cat back for my 2005 Reno and I was wondering a muffler that is 11" long will fit as there is not that much room for the muffler. I took measurements of the stock muffler and they are the following:

Length = About 13"
Width = About 10"
Height = About 8"
Offset = Right/Right
Back of muffler to rear axle = About 3.5"
Muffler to bumper = About 1"

Part of the reason I am also asking is when I was taken measurements I notice that the piping took a step bend around the axle and I don't know with 2.25" piping if this would cause a fitting issue, even if the new muffler is shorter than the stock one. I my idea goal is to have the muffler sit straight like the stock one.

I went to the muffler shop and got the muffler installed and it turns out only a muffler 11" or shorter will fit on the Reno. 14" is way to big for it.
