well put, i'm not sure i'd use 15-40 or 20-50 but i would atleast go up to 10-30, then again i live in colorado.
for the leak. 5-50 does get thin but i'm not sure it would rise past the cap unless there's too much preasure from the oil not runnig down fast enough.
for now i'd
(1) run an engine cleaner in the oil at you next change,
(2) do like spider said and get new lifters and replace the valve cover gasket.
(3)while you're doing that, check to make sure there's nothing ubstructing the oil returns
(4) and the most importent, use synthetic, anything other then 5 30W pensoil, it's the worst for slugging up a motor. I only use Royal Purple full synthetic

well i guess i got mixed up, i was under the impression that you were building a nubi for some reason. the catalog i posted is for the nubi and leganza DOHC's, i'll look around for another vender it would be a good idea for you to do the same.
unfortionatly, the leganza tb wont fit without mods which might make it hard to close the hood.
look to ebay for the gaskets, it will be the cheapest.
also get to know the photo album, see what other people have done and ask the questions.

these are photo albums or all the related chasis or motor.
sorry i can't a great deal more help from here, i'm building a 2.2 and i'm more versedin that motor family.

are you takling about replacing the plastic one only? if so i wouldn't bother i'd just take it off and keep it that way.
then again you could go all out and make an offer on this,
http://www.daewootech.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8472
if you're needing to replace the actual valve cover, then you'll need to remove the four bolts holding the valve covers cover. then pull the ten or so that hold the metal cover down, this is VERY EASY.
here's A pic OE style with the plastic cover,
http://www.daewootech.com/forum/album_p ... ic_id=2097
and here's what's underneath, basicaly,
http://www.daewootech.com/forum/album_p ... ic_id=1975
looks much better without the plastic piece.
