Weapon R Secret Weapon

Hey I ordered a weapon r secret weapon intake and it should be here monday and was wondering if it will fir my 1999 lanos even though it said it fit 2000 to 2002 lanos' I figured they all have the same engine what do you guys think?

What is it ? is it for the 1500 8v or the 1600 16v ?

it will fit the 99 lanos... daewoo didn't change the lanos engine design throughout the production history of the lanos

Just go to www.weapon-r.com. Im anticipating its arrival so i can let you all know if you should order it asap. according to their claims with the ram air i should see a increase of 20 hrsepower. I have a 1.6L DOHC engine. this intake cost 200$ so its power gains better be noticeable.

wow dude...you should have researched before dishing out $200.

20 hp? more like 3. Maybe 4-5 if you are lucky. Besides, the weapon R is a short ram intake, not a cold air one so you wont be pulling any colder air.

yeah you will notice a louder sound and sometimes "feel" the pull a bit more, but dont expect miracles.

Well im hookin up a ram air kit also and thinking of ways to make it cold air for example just putting in half of the stock air box to shield it from heat. I dont know there arent much thigs i can do to my car given that its and automatic and its a daewoo.

You can do anything to an auto daewoo that you can to a standard civic you just have to research and find whatfits and what works.

For the intake run a hose to the front bumper for ram air and just buy a sheild for a mustang or somthing and alter it.

That setup worked good for me till i changed it.

hmm....except for our woos we need to spend months looking for parts and when we do, more often than not is from a country far, far away....whereas if you own a civic well....you dont really need me to tell you.

I feel your pain. There seems to be cheap intakes on ebay for every car in the market except ours.

As for shielding it from heat, you would prob need to fabricate a custom heat resistant air box for it to be truly effective. I lost the link, but on a bmw forum some guy made one for his ram kit for like $90 and it would keep the filter cold even after hard and long driving.

i got mine from andys autosport and it cost about 125

180 was the cheapest i found for the weapon r secret weapon Installing it waws a pain in the ass i had to splice the air sensor to extend it for some reason the fitting was on the other side of the intake, i also had to figur out a way to connect the pvc hose but its finally all together and looks nice i do notice a power increase especially in the upper rpms my car doesnt lag for a second when it shifts anymore, as for ram air im going to have to figure it out because im really strapped for room.

i got a weapon r intake for 165 and i can't wait to get it becuase the one i self made ain't for shit
