where to get a timing belt adjuster

where do i get the timing belt adjuster for changing out the timing belt, do they just call the timing belt slack adjuster that or what do they call it

are you talking about the belt tentioner for the timing belt or the adjustable cam gears?

the belt tensioner for the timing belt i couldn't get on at autozone or advanced auto or is it another tensioner i need?

if you want it new, which i recomend, then it's a dealer only part.

what motor are you building?

if it's a 1.6 you can go to the formerdaewoo dealer or you can get one for the chevy aveo (not sure of the engine codes)

if it's the 2.0/2.2 the you can go to the former daewoo dealer (T22SED/T20SED), the suzuki dealer (U20SE)or the isuzu dealer (T22SE/X22SE/U22SE).

thanks i'll check into that tommorow hopefully it won't cost me a arm and leg, the timing belt was 60 dollars the water pump was 30 and to other belt were lie 15 together. i'll call the dealership

ebay for the win. also i hope you got a Gates brand belt. those are the OEM and the best out there for daewoo's

where can i get the tool to hold the cams still, my autozone or advanced didn't have one somebody told me i can thread bolts in to the head and that will work?

do not use the "bolt trick". you will damage something! i.e. a cam gear.

all of them work the same and even if you don't get one of these of ebay, you can atleat use the pictures or part numbers to have a store like Car Quest or Napa to look them up.

you could also go to your local mechanic to see if they'll tell you when the MAC tools, Snap-On or like tool distributer will be around.
