Hi everyone, my name is JD and I'm a newb here. I really need some help. I'm trying to remove an alternator from a 2000 Daewoo Nubira wagon with a 2.0L engine. This is my first experience with one of these engines, and I can't figure out how to remove the long lower alternator bolt. It's so long that it hits the body/frame, and I can't pull it all the way out of the alternator. So I'm stuck right now It's the only thing that is preventing me from removing it. Do I have to take off anything else in order to remove it? Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Anyone? I could really use some help here. Again, it's the the long bolt on the bottom of the alternator. It's too long to clear the alternator. The bolt hits the passenger inner fender when I try to pull it all the way out. There's gotta be a way to another way to do it that I'm just not seeing. I figure someone here has had to replace an alternator on one of these before... I tried searching the site, but I can't find anything. Any suggestions before
I break out the giant bolt cutters lol Thanks guys

a bump in under one hour... thats a new record!
anyways i didn't go through this process before but it is kinda like "think outside the box" thing so... can't you remove the alternator mount all together rather than trying to remove just the alternator??

Lol, well actually I posted this yesterday evening. I just edited the thread title so it stood out more, and then bumped it. I think maybe your right though, maybe the actual bracket that mounts to the engine has to come off. It's just that I'm so close to having it off, I figured maybe there might be an easier way. It seems awfully tight in there to remove the entire bracket. I will have to look at it closer after work today. I almost just want to drill a hole into the inner fender well to be able to pull the bolt all the way out. I don't want to resort to that, but it would make the job easier the next time around. Thanks for the response man.
