Engine mounts for Laganza

Post by newTotheWoo »

In checking over my '01 Leganza, I found the motor mounts must be bad. When you put the car in reverse the tail pipe "tinks" into the body. I makes an audible sound.

the engine rocks back and forth from Drive to Reverse.

Does anyone know where to locate these? Is there a surefire way to KNOW these are bad? In other words, should the engine move this much?

Hey New,

It probably is your motor mount/mounts. It was old, you changed the engine. That put more stress on it. I say "it" because it may just be the front mount. Of course your rear mount may be bad too? But it dosen't get yanked around like the front one does when an engine gets swapped. Anyway, you can only replace one at a time. :)

Thats just my guess.

When I changed the engine on my Lanos ? Discovered my front (of engine) mtr. mount was bad . Spotted a crack in the rubber part of it.

Don't know about the Leganza but on the Lanos you can't tell by looking at it (when its intalled) if its bad or not.
Pretty easy job to replace one tho.
I got mine at Auito-Zone for around 30 dollars (USD) I remember the sales guy asking me "what model?" He was looking at a list of Daewoo models on his computer.
So, they should have it or can get you one.

Hope this helps and also hope you have an Auto-Zone in Michigan ?
