Hi........ I am new to this group and was very happy yesterday when I find out a group like this for Daewoo. I have a Year 2000 manufactured Daewoo Nexia GLE in India. It has done 65000 KM (about 40500 Miles). The problem started when the meter reading was about 40000 Km. The problem was when I pull my foot off the throttle at any rpm (Say 4000), the engines comes to normal idling (850 RPM) after very long time. It took about 8-10 seconds to come from 4000 rpm to 850 rpm. I showed it to local mechanics but of no use. I tried changing the main sensors with that of another fine working car also. But the result was begative. Now, I have shifted to a place which has 99% humidity 99 % of the time. Due to some unavoidable conditions, I left the car untouched for 15 days and disconnecting the battery terminals. Now the proiblem is that the enging idling is very rough. It goes up and down from 450 rpm to 1000 rpm again and again while idling. It gives a lot of problem while drving in gears 1 and 2. The problem decreases when the throttle is pushed to the limit. Also when you push the throttle while idling to about 3000 rpm and keep it there for some time, the rpm automatically does up and down from 3000 to 1000 rpm again and again even if you keep the throttle still. Please help.
As am new to this gourp, please explain any terminology u use. like the names of the parts ot sensors, which i may not be aware of.
It seems that this problem is related to the Idle Air Control valve. You can try to clean it before replacing. Look in "how-to" section fo that and many other tips. http://www.daewootech.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2619 .
i agree with Daniel, it's the Idle Air Control Valve, relace it and everything will be just fine again, btw, this valve always broke because of dust, so look at the throttle, if there is alot of dust then replace ur air filter too cuz it may be broken and just letting alot of dust to come inside ur engine. or check if there was anything broke in the air hose that let air comes inside from another place without going through the air filter.
i have the about the same problem too, base on the two pictures , i took out the Idle Air Control Valve and cleaned it. My idling is then normal for one hour of city driving and now i'm here typing.
Hope the problem don't surface again. Hopefully a replacement is not neccessary. Cheers
